What is HR & AI

What are HR Processes

HR processes are strategic methods that help a company gain a competitive advantage by enhancing employee productivity. They play a crucial role in achieving the organization's goals. HR processes involve activities like recruiting, training, evaluating, and managing personnel, along with handling aspects like orientation, compensation, benefits, and security in compliance with labor regulations. Two key aspects of HR processes are acquiring, hiring, training, and retaining employees, as well as monitoring and caring for the well-being of the workforce, considering that staff costs are a significant part of the payroll.

HR processes are like the heart of a company, bringing energy to all departments and maintaining the organization's overall well-being. HR managers can enhance the efficiency and consistency of these processes through a structured approach, leading to improved employee productivity, retention, and engagement.

When a company dedicates time and effort to thorough human resource processes, it's an investment in its operations. No business wants to allocate resources without achieving significant goals. The goals of HR processes include determining the necessary staff numbers, optimizing the current workforce, anticipating and planning for recruitment needs, predicting and addressing staff turnover, forecasting technology changes for targeted training, maximizing the return on human capital investment, ensuring a stable workforce, distributing resources based on evidence, competence, and production, and managing salaries and wages based on available funds. what is AI

Artificial intelligence (AI) involves a variety of technologies collaborating to empower machines with human-like intelligence, enabling them to sense, understand, act, and learn. This diversity is why definitions of AI vary, as it encompasses various elements. Technologies such as machine learning and natural languages processing play key roles, evolving independently but, when combined with data, analytics, and automation, contribute to achieving business objectives, such as enhancing customer service or streamlining the supply chain
.
Artificial intelligence is often categorized into "narrow" and "general" AI. In our daily experiences, we mostly encounter narrow AI, which excels at a specific task or a closely connected set of tasks. Examples include weather apps, digital assistants, and software analyzing data for business optimization. While these systems are efficient in their focused roles, they possess transformative potential, impacting the way we work and live worldwide when applied appropriately.

General AI, as depicted in sci-fi films, mirrors human intelligence by thinking strategically, abstractly, and creatively, handling diverse complex tasks. While machines excel at certain tasks like data processing, the complete realization of general AI is currently limited to movies. In reality, artificial intelligence is an extension of human capabilities, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between humans and machines. AI, in today's context, serves as a complement rather than a replacement for human skills and expertise.(Accenture 2023)

How is HR using artificial intelligence

AI can help pick up the pace by helping managers nurture each potential hire automatically, and it allows them to receive notifications when a candidate applies for an open position. Procurement of short-term workers: AI in HR can help organizations fill open positions quickly, including short-term and temp positions.(Dennis J 2023)
